Even standing there half naked in only a pair of pajama pants, gunshot scars visible for all the world to see—Kira’s confidence was not in the least bit forfeit. He was getting stronger then. Good.
“How very un-L of you,” Light said, noting the Cheshire grin, and B shrugged.
“How very un-Kira of you,” and he nodded to the gun.
“Necessity.”
“ Pity.”
And Light’s jaw tightened. “What do you want from me?”
“That I haven’t already gotten?” B purred.
And Kira’s expression melted smooth—guarded, but smooth. “I’m a much better fuck when I know who I’m fucking,” he said.
“I have no complaints,” B replied, and even in the shadows Light could see Beyond’s eyes flickering to that phantom spot above his head, quite incessantly, like an aggravated tick; though Light supposed someone who’d had The Eyes their whole life would have something of that nature.
B smirked. “Hmmm,” he said in that leaden and slightly growly British lilt, his true voice. “How very very interesting. I can see Kira’s lifespan.”
Light frowned but didn’t crack.
“I can see Lawli’s too you know,” Beyond continued. “And you want to know the funny thing, Kami-sama?”
