Already so many thanks for the time and patience to read this.
I note a sliver of veins, and they speak to me (I love veins~! <3), I like the way the blood is almost 'painted on' his lips, where it otherwise looks chapped and abused- it makes him look like a macabre geisha. I also enjoy how melancholy he looks, despite the plastered (well, 'forced', really) smile on his face.
Also like the smidge of, well, 'infection' (couldn't find a better phrase) underneath his lip. It shows an eye for detail. Way to go, you! For a first true attempt at gore, you've really gone the full distance.
